RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research focuses on sustainable resource management, food security, and agricultural value chains in Brunei, with particular attention to farming practices and their role in national development. I also explore urban economic resiliency, socio-economic development linkages, and the intersections of gender, culture, and mobility in shaping developmental outcomes across Southeast Asia, with Brunei as a central context. Building on this foundation, my PhD research proposal examines agritourism as a strategy to enhance sustainable growth, diversify the economy, and strengthen Brunei’s agricultural sector, linking rural development, tourism, and socio-economic advancement.
